Short bio

I am a Researcher based in Rome, concerned with questions of environmental justice, colonial legacies, the role of space in our thinking, and how to put all that into industrial and social policies.

My heart beats strongly for the struggle of the communities of Salinas Grandes and Laguna de Guayatayoc, and how it is tied up in military struggles for geopolitical dominance and techno-optimist narrative creation. Making sense of dispossession and violence is no easy feat, but Marisol and me are trying.

I have worked extensively on industrial decarbonisation policies, and although I am critical about their feasibility and the political interest in climate change mitigation, continued evidence creation for the “right” policies remains an important part of the academic aspect of ecological struggles.

Scientific and academic decolonisation is another topic I care for deeply. Especially in a science as domineering as Economics, we have to figure out how to do better, in the classroom, in our conferences, and in our research.

Beside of that, I am passioned to work with all sorts of data, programmes and computational tools to make sense of the world. I worked with geospatial administrative data, firm-level industrial data, satellite imagery, and love to learn more every day.

Curriculum Vitae:

I hold a PhD from the Université Côte d’Azur, France, and from the Università degli Studi di Napoli “Parthenope”, Italy, in Economics. A Master’s Degree from Kingston University, London, UK, in Political Economy. A Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business from the Technische Universität Dresden, Germany.

I have worked, interned, and volunteered for several public and private organizations and institutions across different countries.

Connections

I often collaborate with my partner Marisol Manfredi on research and events. She taught me many things about being in this world. Like being brave and strong without being full of yourself. She is also a great mind and one of my big inspirations.

Since many years, Giacomo Ravaioli has been a great support. As a friend and as an academic. Combining an analytical mind with great empathy isn’t easy, but he might be the best example. (He also works on very important issues: Advertising)

There are many more people that help and inspire me and aim to add them here bit by bit.
